Dr. Henry Wei is a consultant gastroenterologist and endoscopist at Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai (Auckland City Hospital). He provides care in private at Medical Specialists Group, Endoscopy Auckland, and Greenlane Medical Specialists.

Dr. Wei manages a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders using a collaborative multidisciplinary approach, focusing on achieving the best possible outcomes for his patients.

He offers consultations in both English and Mandarin.

Story

Dr. Henry Wei was raised in Auckland during his formative years after moving to New Zealand from Taiwan. 

He pursued his medical education at the University of Auckland, completing a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2011. His specialist training has provided him with the opportunity to broaden his experience across various locations throughout New Zealand.

Dr. Wei possesses a robust foundation in general gastroenterology and has further honed his expertise with additional years of subspecialty training in therapeutic and advanced endoscopic procedures. In addition to his clinical work, he serves as a lecturer at the University of Auckland’s School of Medical and Health Sciences, where he is actively involved in the training and development of medical professionals at all levels.

Dr. Wei maintains an exceptional standard of practice and stays abreast of contemporary medical advancements, cutting-edge endoscopic methods, and ongoing research. He aims to create an environment where patients can openly discuss their health issues, allowing for collaborative identification and addressing of these conditions in a secure and effective manner.
